Mode of actionCopper leads to metabolic disorders of pathogens by inhibiting many enzymatic reactions and enters into counterforce with other metals between cells by creating chelate compounds – chelates and inactivation of membrane proteins.

Compatibility

Escada 488 SC is compatible with most pesticides except products based on fosethyl aluminum and sulfur and products having an acid reaction. The only thing that needs to be controlled to avoid phytotoxicity when combining products in the tank mixture – is its acidity, which should not be less than 4. The duration of the protective effect, depending on weather conditions is from 7 to 10 days, in terms of epiphytotic infection treatments are carried out every 6 – 7 days.

Application features

Some grape varieties are hypersensitive to copper based preparations. It is advisable to have data on the sensitivity of the grape variety.

It is not recommended to use the product when an air temperature is above + 25°C. If  terms of treatment were not followed and the plants are already affected (there is the appearance of the first visual signs of infection) it is necessary to apply fungicide of systemic action during 2-3 days.

Avoid contact of the product with metal surfaces.

To maximize the protective effect a contact of pathogen with treated surface is required; therefore, it is necessary to ensure a full and uniform coating of all parts of the plant by working solution. Excellent adhesion leads to a little effect on the re-distribution of product on the new growth of lamina and shoots. Therefore, repeated sprayings with the growth of the vegetative mass of plants are required.

The copper content of Escada SC is 2.5 times lower than in powdered copper containing fungicides (Shampion WP, Funguran OH). During the treatment by Bordeaux mixture with the working solution at 1 ha falls from 5 to 12 kg of pure copper, while using Escada SC it ranges from 0.4 to 0.5 kg at the same biological efficacy!
